Red Chlamydia Alert in the City Center
Rauð klamídíuviðvörun í miðbænum um helgina

Photography · Photobook · Installation
A photographic work about desire, intimacy and the traces left by contact, unfolding through nightlife, memory and aftermath in Reykjavík.
Red Chlamydia Alert in the City Center follows the emotional rhythm of a night — anticipation, euphoria, intimacy and aftermath.
Developed through photographs made in and around Reykjavík nightlife, the work moves between diary, document and fiction. Desire and exposure become forms of contagion; affection, performance and memory overlap.
The project exists across photography, photobook and installation, shifting between the intimacy of the page and the collective experience of the exhibition space.

The Photobook
The photobook became a way of containing the night. Unlike the projection, which unfolds at its own pace, the book allows the viewer to stop, return and construct their own sequence.
The first edition was produced in 101 copies, referring to Reykjavík’s 101 postal district, where the project takes place.

Photography and writing are intertwined throughout the book. Poems, fragments and images create a layered narrative in which memory is never entirely stable and the night is reconstructed through traces rather than chronology.

The projection was conceived as a photographic slideshow rather than a conventional video. Images appear in succession within a 4:3 frame, creating a rhythm of proximity, interruption and repetition.
